David L. Brown, MD, FACC, FACP

David L. Brown, MD, FACC, FACP is founder and managing partner of The Heart Group. He has more than 30 years experience in interventional and nuclear cardiology. Dr. Brown was a clinical pioneer of cardiac PET and opened one of the first free standing outpatient cath labs in Texas. He has participated in multiple national and international research trials and performed more than 12,000 interventions. Dr. Brown has been a lead investigator in multiple clinical trials including coronary and peripheral interventional trials as well as percutaneous aortic and mitral valve trials. His professional interests include nuclear cardiology, cardiac and peripheral vascular interventions, and structural heart disease. Dr. Brown recently led a team evaluating the strategic exploration for business development of heart hospital ventures in countries outside the US including India. After graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY, Dr. Brown graduated from The George Washington School of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC and subsequently finished his cardiology fellowship at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Brown is board certified in internal medicine and cardiology. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians, and the American Heart Association Council of Clinical Cardiology. Dr. Brown is a co-founder of The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano where he is President of Medical Affairs and Chairman of the Medical Staff, Director of Interventional Cardiology, and Co-Director of Cardiovascular Research and the Structural Heart Program.
